Charles Petit (France)

In 1895, Charles Petit purchased the entire heavy diving equipment (‘hard-hat diving’) sector, including the manufacturing assets and the ongoing patent rights, from the Société des Spécialités Mécaniques. The company was taken over in 1920 by René Piel.

Pompe à joints Giffard

Denayrouze pump with rocking levers, fitted with ‘Giffard’ seals. Manufactured by Denayrouze from 1888 onwards. This is a very simple and highly reliable model; the central column also serves as an air reservoir. It was used only for shallow depths due to its limited power
