Breathing Appliances Co of Melbourne in Australia, was founded by Ted Eldred, who produced the first double stage / single hose regulator (as used today) called the Porpoise. Ted Elfred has never patented his invention.
The first patent for a single hose being for the Cristal of Jean Bronnec et Raymond Gautier in june 1955.
The first porpoise went in Production in February 1952.
